Accurate measurements: 

If your measurements are off by as little as 1 millimeter you can notice blur, distortions, or eye strain. Our opticians are trained to take exact measurements of how your eye centers in the glasses you have chosen.

• Progressive lenses bought online are regularly made with the wrong centration due to incorrect measurements. So the patient ends up looking through their reading power to see far away or the reading power is so low in the lens that it’s hard to use.

• Lenses for people who require a high power often experience “prismatic decentration” - that means images become displaced and can make you feel cross-eyed. This happens because the center of their lenses are too far left or right as a result of not being checked by a trained optician and trying to do it on their own. 

Frame selection

Frames are not one-size-fits all! Different power prescriptions can come with frame size requirements. Our opticians are able to assess your prescription and make sure the frame will suit your power and your face shape well to keep your lenses as thin and lightweight as possible.

• Certain powers of lenses and whether they are made for nearsighted or farsightedness look better in certain shapes (and terrible in some shapes).
